This is due to the working collaboration between Pip Todman and Louise Sims, SUBA (Simply Unique Business Angles), has been put on hold. This month we are showcasing some of the amazing products available, for FREE, during Sale-A-Bration.  Yes, I said FREE.  Sale-A-Bration is an annual sale, hosted by Stampin’ Up!, where you can earn free products.  All you have to do is order the products you would order anyway and for every £45/£90 spent you get to choose a product, for free, from the Sale-A-Bration broucher.

Happy Birthday To You Stamp Set

I have chosen to share the ‘Happy Birthday To You’ stamp set. This set is available FREE with a spend of £45. I just love the elegant, simplicity of the set, which includes one main image, three sentiments (Happy Birthday, To You, Celebrate) and a background image. This is perfect for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, engagements and much more. I hope you find inspiration in my makes.

For my main project I have made a ‘Congratulations’ card.  The background is made using a 10cm x 14.4cm piece of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock and ‘Gorgeous Grape’ ink.  Load a ‘Sponge Brayer’ with ink and starting off the cardstock, roll side to side starting at the bottom and working up.  This will give you an ombre effect.  Continue to do so until you are happy with the colour you have built up.  Allow to dry and rub over with an ‘Embossing Buddy’.  Load cake image stamp with ‘Versa Mark’ ink and stamp in the righthand bottom corner.  Cover with ‘White Embossing Powder’, shaking excess back into pot, melt with heat gun until all becomes shinny.  Layer onto an A6, ‘Thick Whisper White’ cardbase.  For the sentiment I used the congratulations stamp from the ‘Label Me Bold’ stamp set, embossing, in white, onto a piece of ‘Gorgeous Grape’ cardstock.  Fussy cut around the sentiment and attach to card front using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’.  Finish with a spool of ‘Silver Mettalic Thread’.

I also recreated the card using ‘So Saffron’, ‘Pear Pizzazz’, ‘Smoky Slate’ Ink and ‘Aqua Painters’ on ‘Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper’, layered onto a ‘So Saffron’ cardbase.  Finished off with ‘Wink Of Stella’.

For my second recreation I used ‘Watercolour Pencils’ and ‘Blender Pens’ on ‘Shimmery White’ cardstock, layered onto a piece of ‘Pool Party’ cardstock and a ‘Thick Whisper White’ cardbase.

Theme – Fancy Folds

Hello and welcome to our September Bog Hop – Theme Fancy Folds.  You may have notice that we have had a change of name for our group.  This is due to the working collaboration between Pip Todman and Louise Sims, SUBA (Simply Unique Business Angles), has been put on hold.  They are both, seperately, concentrating on their individual businesses.  We are still the same group of friends bringing you fantastic project inspiration.

This month our theme is fancy folds and I have to admit that I have found it a bit of a challenge.  I am a simple card maker usually, but I am enjoying participating in this group as it pushes  me outside of my comfort zone.  I have spent hours online looking for inspiration, there are a lot of fancy fold styles out there.  I knew I wanted to use the ‘Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper’ and as I do not have the coordinating stamp set, I needed a fancy fold that would allow me to use the paterns and designs in the paper.

To make this double Z fancy fold card you will need a piece of ‘Mint Macaron’ cardstock 21cm x 10.5cm.  Score on the long side, landscape, at 5.25cm and 10.5cm.  Fold along 10.5cm score line to make a card base, then fold along the 5.25cm score line so that it folds back on its self.  This will give you a z fold card.  Cover the front with a piece of ‘Mosaic Moods’ dsp 10cm x 4.75cm and the inside with a piece of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, 10cm x 10cm.

Cut a strip of ‘Mint Macaron’ cardstock, 21cm x 4.5cm, score on the long side, landscape, at 10.5cm and 15.75cm and fold along score lines.  Attach to the card front so that the 10.5cm panel is attached to the 5.25cm panel of the card base.  Cover with a different piece of ‘Mosaic Moods’ dsp.   Attach the second of the 5.25cm panels to the inside righthand side of the card base.  Cover this with the same dsp as used on the front of the card base.  Cut a panel of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, 4.75cm x 4cm, stamp with a chosen sentiment using ‘Terracotta Tile’ ink and adhere to the middle panel.  Fussy cut a Humming bird and a butterfly from the ‘Mosaic Mood’ dsp, adhere the bird to the front of the card and the butterfly to the righthand panel.

Friends of SUBA August Blog Hop – Summer Days

Hello and welcome to our  August Blog Hop, yes it is August already!  The summer holidays are well under way and lots of us are enjoying time relaxing, with friends and family, at the beach.  We thought it would be fitting to have olut theme ‘Summer Days’ and share with you a scrapbook layout.

Summer Days – Scrapbook Layout

I have to admit that when I first saw the theme, for this months blog hop, I was not impressed.  For many years, I have longed to complete scrapbooks but had no idea where to start.  Sitting at my craft table with a blank piece of 12 x 12 card stock sets me panicing.  It is such a large area to design and fill.  I brought several kits to get started but never did, then I was introduced to ‘Memories & More’.  Scapbooking became possible, I love it!  It is so much simpler and allows me to change things around if I change my mind.

‘Memories & More’ is a pocket system, with plastic wallets that fit photographs and pre-designed cards.  These cards are available id a range of designs and styles.

For my project I have chosen to use the ‘Come Sail Away Memories & More’ card pack and complete a double page spread, using photographs from a recent visit to my sister’s house.  The card pack uses a variety of colours, but i have chosen to use only three – ‘Night of Navy’, ‘Balmy Blue’ and ‘Real Red’.  Three colours tend to work better for layouts and will not distract from the photo images.  Framing the photographs with ‘Real Red’ card stock allows them to stand out even more.  Finishing the page with a few sticker embellishments, from the ‘Memories & More’ card park, and a bit of journaling to help others share the joy of your photographs.

Friends of SUBA April Blog Hop – 2019 Onstage

Hello and welcome to our April Blog Hop.  This month we bring you Onstage.  Onstage is a twice yearly event for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.  We get together to learn about and craft with new products, how to improve our business and see the upcoming catalogue.  It is an amazing event where I get to see many of the wonderful friends I have made through Stampin’ Up!

This Little Piggy

I chose to use ‘This Littler Piggy’ stamp set for two reasons; it is carrying over into the new annual catalogue (contact me to request your copy) and it is such a cute set.  It comprises of four beautiful images and corresponding sentiments.   My favourite being the one I chose to use on my swap card, ‘She Believed She Could….’ showing a flying piggy, the corresponding sentiment reads ‘So She Did’.

To recreate this card you will need an A6 cardbase in ‘Smoky Slate’, use ‘Smoky Slate’ ink to stamp the cloud image at random onto the front of the cardbase.  Stamp your piggy image onto ‘Whisper White’ card stock, using ‘Jet Black’ Stazon ink.  Die cut using the ‘Stitched Shapes Framelits’.  Colour your piggy with ‘Blushing Bride’ ink and an ‘Aqua Painter’.  Cut a 1cm strip of Sparkle ‘Glimmer Paper’, fish tail each end and adhere flat to your cardbase. Using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’ adhere your piggy to your cardbase.  Add ‘Wink Of Stella’ to the wings for the finishing touch.

‘Spring Time Cards’

Hello and welcome to our March Blog Hop, where we are bringing you ‘Spring Time Cards’, as it will soon be here!

Whether you have hopped over from Ginny @celebratethejourney or joined straight with me, I am so glad you could join us. I am sure you will find plenty of inspiration as you hop along. With our ‘Spring Time Cards’ theme, we are given free range of all Stampin’ Up! current products.  This gives us a wide scope and many possibilities.  I have chosen to showcase the ‘Floral Romance Suite’.  The soft colours and tiny flowers really say ‘Spring’ to me.

I have four cards to share with you, all using the ‘Floral Romance Suite’.  The lovely soft colours with in this suite are ‘Fresh Fig’, ‘Mossy Meadow’, ‘Pear Pizzazz’, ‘Petal Pink’, ‘Sahara Sand’ and ‘Whisper White’.  I have swapped the ‘Whisper White’ for ‘Very Vanilla’, I feel this gives a softer look.

You may have heard of ‘#loveitchopit’ started by Kylie Bertucci.  This is where you take you DSP, (Designer Series Paper), and chop it into card front sized pieces ready to use.  I have taken to this challenge as I would hoard my DSP, not wanting to cut into it.  This way it is done and ready to go.  The pieces can be chopped into smaller pieces as required.  For more details check out Kylie Bertucci.

Watercolour Floral

My first card uses the ‘No Line’ watercolour technique.  Stamp your image onto watercolour card using second generation stamping, in ‘Sahara Sand’.  This will give you a very faint image.  Using an ‘Aqua Painter’ colour your image with ‘Fresh Fig’, ‘Mossy Meadow’, ‘Pear Pizzazz’ and ‘Petal Pink’ inks.  Cut this out using the coordinating ‘Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies’.  Cut a strip of ‘Floral Romance Speciality Designer Series Paper’, 5cm x 14.4cm, and adhere this to a strip of ‘Very Vanilla’ card stock, 5.5cm x 14.9cm.  I used a small amount of the ‘Fine Tip Glue Pen’ in each corner, this is not noticeable through the vellum.  Take an A6, (10.5cm x 14.9cm), card base and adhere your layered strip to the left hand side, leaving a small border.  Adhere your floral image to the card base, using ‘dimensionals’.  Cut five vellum leaves using the multi leaf ‘Framelit Die’, from plain vellum.  Adhere these under your floral image, you may need to trim to fit.  Finish by adding a small pearl to each of the flower centres, I used the ‘Share What You Love Artisan Pearls’.

You are the best thing

This card is made in the same way as the Watercolour Floral card, swapping the floral image for a die-cut sentiment, the vellum leaves for ‘Petal Pink’ springs and stamping ‘Pear Pizzazz’ foliage onto the card base.

Colour Combo

Hello and welcome to this months blog hop!  We have chosen to do a colour combo for you, ‘Petal Pink’, ‘So Saffron’ and ‘Garden Green’.

Whether you have hopped over from Katy – The Sparkly Stamper or joined straight with me, I am so glad you could join us.  I am sure you will find plenty of inspiration as you hop along.  With a colour combo we are able to use any current products in the given colours, plus ‘Whisper White’, ‘Very Vanilla’ and ‘Basic Black’.  This gives us a wide scope and may possibilities.

I have three projects to share with you today, two cards and a box bag.  Each one I made using different products, one is using some of the new second release ‘Sale-A-Bration’ products and co-ordinating products that are available to purchase.

Painted Seasons Stamp Set and Four Seasons Framelits Dies

This card is perfect for a wedding or anniversary celebration, having floral elements that are soft and elegant.  The images are very detailed and need no extra shading, to give depth.  It uses new ‘Sale-A-Bration’ and coordinating products.  All products used can be found at the end of this post.

Emboss a 10cm x 14.4cm layer of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, using the ‘Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder’, add a piece of ‘Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon’ and matt onto a ‘Whisper White’ card base.  Using the largest of the flower images from the ‘Painted Seasons’ stamp set, stamp one image onto ‘Whisper White’ cardstock with ‘Petal Pink’ Ink.  With the smaller of the flower images, stamp twice using ‘So Saffron’ ink onto ‘Whisper White’ cardstock.  Stamp several of the two leaf images onto ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, using ‘Garden Green’ ink in both first and second generation stamping.  Cut all the images out, using the coordinating ‘Four Seasons Framelits Dies’.  Adhere these to the embossed layer using ‘TomBow’ all purpose glue and ‘Dimensionals’.  Finish with the ‘Forever & Always’ sentiment, from ‘Itty Bitty Greetings’ stamp set, stamped in ‘Garden Green’ onto ‘Whisper White’ cardstock.  Punch this out using the ‘Classic Label’ punch and adhere over the ribbon.

Daisy delight and Daisy punch

This cards uses the ‘Daisy Delight’ stamp set and coordinating punch.  CASE’ed (copy and share everything) from the annual catalogue, page 32.

Beautiful Bouquet

The box bag uses ‘Beautiful Bouquet’ stamp set, ‘Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies’ and ‘Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Speciality Paper’.   CASE’ed from the annual catalogue, page 123.

Happy New Year and welcome to our first blog hop of 2019.  I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season!  I had a fairly quiet one, as our daughter is now 13 it seems to get quieter each year.

Whether you have hopped over from Gina – Emerald Kreations or joined straight with me, I am so glad you could join us!  To welcome in 2019 we have chosen  ‘Sale-A-Bration’ for our theme.  Many of you may know all about it, but for those that do not I will tell you.  FREE products, yes I did say FREE!  For every £45 order place you get to choose and item from a selection of products for FREE.  Now is a great time to shop, as there is also the new spring/summer catalogue.

Hello Cupcake

I adore this set!  The fact that it was FREE just makes it even better, plus who doesn’t love a cupcake.  Being a photopolymer set makes lining up the images so easy.  I have designed numerous cards with this stamp set and can see many more coming soon.

For this card create an A6 card base, using ‘Bermuda Bay’ cardstock and layer with a 14.5cm x 10cm piece of ‘Whisper White’.  Emboss a 14.5cm x 3cm piece of ‘Lemon Lime Twist’ cardstock, using the new ‘Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder’, adhere this flat to the front layer.  Punch out a 2″ circle of ‘Bermuda Bay’ cardstock and adhere to your card, over the ‘Lemon Lime Twist’ strip, using ‘Dimensionals’.  Onto a piece of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock stamp your cupcake, using ‘Soft Suede’ ink for the base and ‘Lemon Lime Twist’  for the frosting.  There are two stamps for this, the first is a small stamp that lines up with the top of the cupcake case/base and the second is the large frosting.  Add a heart using ‘Lovely Lipstick’ ink and fussy cut out your image.  Adhere this flat onto your ‘Bermuda Bay’ circle.  Stamp your sentiment using ‘Bermuda Bay’ ink and finish off with a few ‘Lemon Lime Twist’ sequins from the ‘Gingham Gala Adhesive-backed Sequins’.

Note cards using #simplestamping.  These are quick to make and make a great card to send for many occasions.

Hello and welcome to this months blog hop!  Whether you have hopped over from Ginny  or joined straight with me, thank you and we hope you enjoy.  December is fast approaching and with that comes Christmas, so we have chosen the theme Christmas.  Have you finished your Christmas crafting or are you just getting started?  Either way you will find plenty of inspiration on this months blog hop.  I have reverted back to the annual catalogue again and chosen a well loved stamp set, ‘Cookie Cutter Christmas’ and the co-ordinating ‘Cookie Cutter Builder Punch’.

I have several cards to share with you and would like to start with one using my favourite stamp from the set, the Eskimo.  He/she is such a cute little thing, all wrapped up against the cold.  The stamp is simple, yet carries some beautiful detail.

Cut a 10cm x14.5cm piece of ‘Shimmery White’ card stock, using an ‘Aqua painter’ and ‘Balmy Blue’ ink, paint a watercolour swoosh in the centre. Stamp the Eskimo image onto ‘Whisper White’ card stock, using ‘Basic Grey’ ink.  Colour using ‘Stampin Write Markers’ and ‘Blends’.  Punch out using the ‘Cookie Cutter Builder Punch’.  Cut an A6 card base from ‘Balmy Blue’ and adhere the ‘Shimmery White’ layer to the front, add a strip of ‘Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon’ and silver ‘Mini Sequin Trim’, using ‘Mini Glue Dots’.  Place your Eskimo over the top with ‘Dimensionals’ to add height.  Stamp a sentiment in ‘Versamark’ onto a piece of ‘Balmy Blue’ cardstock.  Sprinkle on ‘White Embossing Powder’, shaking off any excess, heat with a heat gun and cut into a banner.  adhere one end to the card front with ‘All Purpose Glue’ and the other with a ‘Dimensional’.  Finish by adding a few white sequins from the ‘Metallics Sequin Assortment’.

For these two cards I use the reindeer stamp.  The first one was inspired by Emma Goddard – Coastal Crafter, using the ‘Sprig Punch’ for the antlers and the second was CASED from Louise Sims @ Stampin Delight.

For these two cards I used the Santa stamp and coloured him using ‘Stampin Write Markers’ and ‘Blends’.  I love his little open mouth and closed eyes, makes him seems as if he is laughing.

I love that this set can be used for young and old, and having so many different characters allows you to create many different fun designs.  Having the co-ordinating punch makes it easy to cut all of the characters out, for both young and old.  A full list of products used for my first project is available at the bottom of the page.

Friends of SUBA October Bog Hop – Theme Autumn

Hello and welcome to this months ‘Friends of SUBA Blog Hop’ our theme is Autumn.  You may be wondering what SUBA stands for and what it is all about.  SUBA is Simply Unique Business Angles, owned and run by Louise Sims and Pip Todman, they offer technology training for entrepreneurs.  Check out their website here.

My Autumn Project

With the launch of the new Holiday catalogue, we tend to forget about the Annual and use our new supplies. I have decided to go back to the Annual catalogue for my project and have picked out the ‘Colorful Seasons’ stamps set and co-ordinating ‘Seasonal Layers Thinlets Dies’.  This is an extremely versatile set as it contains images that represent all four of the seasons; leaves, snowflakes, blossom and a deck chair.  Therefore it is perfect for our theme Autumn.

How I made my card

Take an ‘Early Espresso’ card base, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm.  Cut a layer of ‘Whisper White’, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm, using a sponge brayer, with ‘Crushed Curry’ ink, cover the layer with an ombre of colour.  Follow this with ‘Pumkin Pie’ ink just above halfway.  Finish off with a small amount of ‘Cajun Craze’ ink to the very bottom.  Adhere to your card base.

Stamp your sentiment in ‘Early Espresso’ ink onto ‘Whisper White’ cardstock and cut out using the largest of the ovals from the ‘Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies’.  Glue flat onto your ombre layer.

Stamp and die-cut various leaves in ‘Crushed Curry’ and ‘Cajun Craze’ ink.  For the detailed leaves brayer over once cut to fill any white areas, this gives a nice textured look to your leaves.  Stamp a single, small leaf with ‘VersaMark’ and heat emboss using ‘Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder’.  Layer these onto your card front using ‘Tombow’ and ‘Dimensionals’.

To finish your card add three copper sequins from the ‘Metallics Sequin Assortment’.
