Hello and Merry Christmas! Ok, I am a bit early but hay ho. This month’s Tech 4 Stampers blog hop is all about Fancy Fold cards. Handmade cards are always special but make it a Fancy Fold and it is extra special. There are so many ways to create a Fancy Fold, some are simple whilst others need a math degree. For me, I prefer the simple not just because they are quick and easy but because they allow the stamping to be the main component.

I have chosen to use the new Online Exclusive Cake Celebrations bundle and create a wedding. The soft flower and leaf images scream for a soft colour pallet, and I head straight to the subtle family of colours. I want to keep the colours simple, so I choose Petal Pink for the flowers and Soft Sea Foam for the leaves. Crumb Cake makes a perfect base, and Basic White keeps it fresh. Adding a touch of gold for opulence.

Fancy Fold Wedding Card

On Basic White cardstock, stamp both size rectangle cake images using 2nd generation (stamped off) Petal Pink ink. Stamp the infill/detail images on top using full strength Petal Pink ink. Stamp four flowers using Petal Pink and two of each leaves using Soft Sea Foam. Die-cut your images using cordinationg dies.

Using Versamark ink and gold embossing powder, heat emboss a cake stand and smaller leaves image. Die-cut these too.

Adhere your die-cut images to a piece of Basic White card stock, measuring 7cm x 9.5cm, using a combitation of Multipurpose Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, and Mini Dimensionals.

Cut two pieces of Basic White cardstock measuring 10cm x 14cm and 10cm x 4.5cm. Randomly stamp your flower images over the righthand side, using Petal Pink ink. Fill in with leaf images stamped in Soft sea Foam ink. Using a Blending Brush, add a light coverage of Soft Sea Foam ink over your stamped images. For added interest and texture you can also add a splatter of Soft Sea Foam, I do this using the brush nib of my Stampin’ Write Marker and flicking on the edge of the lid.

Using Versamark and gold embossing powder, heat emboss your sentiment as required.

Cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, measuring 10.5cm x 27cm and score at 14.5cm, 17.5cm, 22.5cm, & 25.5cm. Fold and burnish. Adhere your largest Basic White panel inside your cardbase and and the smallest panel to the second section. Roll up and adhere to create a pocket as shown in photos.

Trim a second piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, measuring 7.5cm x 15cm and score at 10cm & 13cm. Adhere your Basic White panel to largest section and add to your card front. This is best done with your card folded flat and lining the top of the front panel to the top of the card base.

You can finish your card by adding several Petal Pink Foiled Gems.

Hello and welcome to my blog, I am so glad you could join me. Today I would like to share with you two wedding cards I have made, using the ‘Piece Of Cake’ stamp set. I adore this set and it can be used for a wide range of occasions and can fit any age. The matching ‘Cake Builder’ punch makes a fabulous addition, allowing you to add extra dimension to your projects.

Vellum Panel Card

My first card uses a vellum panel to soften the background.

Start with a piece of ‘Seaside Spray’ card stock, measuring 9.7cm x 14.1cm and using ‘Seaside Spray’ ink stamp your cake image in diagonal rows, turning your stamp as you go. Add a piece of vellum, measuring 9cm x 13.4cm, putting the glue where it will be hidden buy your focal image. Cut a strip of ‘Seaside Spray 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon’ to fit across your card front, adhere and wrap with ‘Linen Thread’ and tie in a bow.

Stamp your cake and topper image onto ‘Very Vanilla’ card stock, using ‘Seaside Spray’ ink. Using ‘Crumb Cake’ ink, stamp your cake stand and add some shading using a ‘Blender Pen’. Punch out your cake and cake stand, fussy cut your topper. Add these to your cad front, using ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’. Finish with a few ‘Pearl Basic Jewels’, you can add dots of glue behind these to help hold down your vellum. Layer your card front onto a 10cm x 14.4cm piece of ‘Crumb Cake’ card stock, layering this onto a 10.5cm x 14.9cm thick ‘Very Vanilla’ cardbase.

Mr & Mrs Watercolour Swoosh Card

Cut a piece of ‘Very Vanilla’ card stock, measuring 9.7c, x 14.1cm and using ‘Crumb Cake’ ink and an ‘Aqua Painter’ create a swoosh to the bottom left. Stamp ‘MR&MRS’ randomly, using first and second generation stamping in ‘Crumb Cake’ ink. Wrap around a piece of ‘3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim’ and adhere to a 10cm x 14.4cm piece of ‘Seaside Spray’ cardstock. Adhere this, using ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’, to a 10.5cm x 14.9cm thick ‘Very Vanilla’ Cardbase.

Trim a piece of ‘Seaside Spray 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon’ so that you just have the one ‘Seaside Spray’ scalloped edge and adhere to your lace trim. Stamp your cake and topper image, using ‘Seaside Spray’ ink and your cake stand using ‘Crumb Cake’ ink. Fussy cut your topper and punch out your cake and cake stand. Add to your cad front using ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’. To finish add a few ‘Pearl Basic Jewels’.
