Friends of SUBA June Blog Hop
Masculine Cards
Hello and welcome to the latest Friends of SUBA Blog Hop. I can’t believe that we are at the end of June already, but we all know what happens in June. Yes, Fathers day! We knew that we would be too late to feature Fathers Day, but thought we would carry on the theme and do Masculine Cards. Now I was not very happy when this was decided on, as I (along with lots of others) find masculine cards very difficult to do. I never know where to start.
Well I sat at my desk for quite a long time, looking through Pinterest and other sites for inspiration, but nothing seemed to grab me as something I wanted to share with you. I the end I put my laptop to one side and looked at what supplies I had. I spotted the ‘Happy Birthday Thinlits Die’ and decided that I was going to use that. I’m not a great user of ‘Designer Series Paper (DSP) either, so I grab my stash and looked through. I found that the reverse side of the ‘Animal Expedition DSP’ was perfect, both the colours and the patterns where quiet masculine.
Take an A6 card base in ‘Whisper White’ and layer with ‘Basic Grey’, using ‘Dimensionals’ and leaving a small border all around. Cut the ‘Happy Birthday’ 4 times from ‘Call Me Clover’ card stock and adhere together, on top of each other. This gives great dimension and makes it pop! Take 3 different pieces of ‘Animal Expedition DSP’ and cut a 2cm strip from each. Cut a layer of ‘Whisper White’ card stock that is slightly smaller than the ‘Basic Grey’ Layer. Place the DSP strips across the left corner and adhere into place. Add a strip of ‘Pick A Pattern’ washi tape and layer on top of the ‘Basic Grey’. Place the happy birthday in the centre and finish with 3 of the ‘Metallics Sequins’.
Thank you for visiting, I hope this has given you some inspiration. Please Hop over to Ginny at Celebrate The Journey, where you will see plenty more.

Love your card Leighsa. Very effective. Love how you have used the DSP.
I love your card Leighsa and layering up several versions of the die cut is so effective and such a clever use of the DSP. Carrie xx
