Colour Combo
Hello and welcome to our July Blog Hop! This month we are bringing you a ‘Colour Combo’. These are not three colours that I would have chosen to put together, but as you will see they do work. I do not really feel that there are many of the Stampin’ Up! colours that do not work. Why not give it a go and see, just pick three random colours and create. For this combo I did struggle. I looked for ages at my stamp sets and through ‘Pinterest’, but I just could not find the inspiration I needed. So, I turned to the annual catalogue and have CASED (copy and share everything) one of the cards from there.
The card on page 164, using the ‘Graceful Glass Suite’, just jumped out at me for lending its self to these colours. I love the detail in the designer vellum and the thinlets dies. This set is not one that I would have put on my wish list as I did not think I would get much use from it, well how wrong can you be! I was lucky enough to get the stamp set free from ‘Onstage’ in April, I decided to get the rest of the suite when I had earned some free products. I am really glad I did and have used it lots.
To make this card you will need an A6 card base in ‘Shaded Spruce’. Cut a piece of ‘Granny Apple Green’ card stock, measuring 14cm x 6.5cm. Run this through the ‘Bigshot’ with the oblong thinlit die and the new ”Embossing Mats’. You will need to do this twice to cover the width of the card. Die cut using the same thinlit and a piece of ‘Soft Sea Foam’. Adhere these to the card front and wrap ‘Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine’ around three times, tying in a bow to the left hand side. Cut a piece of the ‘Graceful Glass 6×6 designer Vellum’, colour on the reverse using ‘Write Markers’ and adhere to a piece of ‘Whisper White’ card stock. Attach to your card using dimensionals. Finally stamp your sentiment in ‘Shaded Spruce’ onto a piece of ‘Soft Sea Foam’ card stock and adhere to card.
I hope you found this of some inspiration, for more follow the links below and continue to follow our Blog Hop. Full list of supplies used are below. Thanks again for popping over.
