Hello and welcome to the 1st Friends of SUBA blog hop!
Bringing you Easter Inspiration
Blossoming Basket
The theme for our first Friends of Simply Unique Business Angels blog hop is Easter Inspiration, so whether you regularly visit my blog or have popped over from one of my talented friends then welcome, come in and see what project I have to show. I have chosen to use the ‘Blossoming Basket’ stamp set and coordinating ‘Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions’ embossing folder.
I adore the delicate flowers on this stamp and they lend themselves to the use of any colour and method of adding that colour. I have chosen to use the ‘Brusho’ and decided that yellow is an excellent colour for Spring and Easter, using ‘Smokey Slate’ as a contrast. Yes, I love yellow and grey together, a very clean fresh look, I feel. I find adding shading to the basket very easy to give a 3D effect.
- Using A4 ‘Smokey Slate’ cardstock, create an A6 card base.
- Cut a 8 x 10.5 cm layer of ‘Daffodil Delight’ cardstock and emboss using the ‘Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions’ embossing folder, add to your card base.
- Stamp the flower basket in ‘Smokey Slate’ ink on to a 9 x 9 cm layer of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock. Colour the image using media of choice, I use the ‘Stampin’ Blends’ in ‘Smokey Slate’ light and dark, ‘Old Olive’ light and dark and light ‘Daffodil Delight’. Adhere to centre of card base, using ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’.
- Stamp flower basket again, using ‘Basic Black’ ink, on to a piece of watercolour cardstock, large enough just for the flowers. Sprinkle on yellow ‘Brusho Crystal Colour’ and spray with water. Watch the magic happen in front of you.
- Add a little ‘Gamboge’/orange ‘Brusho Crystal Colour’ to the centre of each flower, for shading. Once dry cut out and adhere on top of full image using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’, this gives a fabulous 3D image and a focal point to your card.
- Finish by adding a sentiment and ‘Rhinestone Basic Jewels’.
