Hello and welcome to this weeks blog, where I will be sharing with you a Monochrome Heat Embossed card, for the Global Design Project #gdp255. The theme this week is trees – leaves.
I knew I wanted to do something different and not the obvious greens and browns. I have recently seen a card that has a monochrome background, which really stood out and I thought I would try something similar.
Monochrome Heat Embossed Card
Cut a piece of ‘Basic Black’ cardstock, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm. Stamp randomly, two leaf images from the ‘Forever Fern’ stamp set, using ‘Versamark’ ink. Cover with ‘White Stampin’ Emboss Powder’ and shake off the excess. Using a ‘Heat Tool’ melt the powder until it all shines. I still find this fascinating after years of doing it.
Wrap around a piece of white ribbon from the ‘Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack’. On a Piece of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, stamp your sentiment and cut out using a circle from the ‘Stitched Shapes Dies’. Layer on to a ‘Basic Black’ circle made using the ‘2″ Circle Punch’. Adhere to your ribbon using ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’.
Add your card front to a ‘Basic Black’ cardbase, measuring 10.5 cm x 14.9 cm. To finish add a few pearlescent white gem from the ‘Elegant Faceted Gems’.
