Hello and welcome to this months Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop. For November we have a Non Traditional Christmas Colour Challenge. I am really excited by this theme, as I love to try things new and push myself to think outside the box. We all tend to do the tradition red and green or icey, whites and silvers, for Christmas and to do something else can be a challenge.
I have been inspired by all the rainbows that have been about lately and thought about doing a rainbow Christmas tree, but I wanted to do a simple card, to show how effective these can be. So I have chosen to share with you a rainbow of Christmas trees.
A Rainbow of Christmas Trees using Non Traditional Colours
I just love a stamp set that has a coordinating punch and the ‘Perfectly Plaid’ stamp set and ‘Pine Tree’ punch is fantastic for simple cards.
Using ‘Bermuda Bay’ ink, stamp onto ‘Bermuda Bay’ cardstock with your chosen tree image. I have used to leaf outline and infill stamps, because this stamp set is photopolymer it is quite easy to line these up. Punch your image out using the ‘Pine Tree Punch’.
Repeat your stamping and punching using, ‘Granny Apple Green’, ‘Daffodil Delight’, ‘Melon Mambo’ and ‘Gorgeous Grape’ cardstock and ink.
Cut a piece of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, measuring 13.9cm x 9.5cm, and adhere to a piece of ‘Daffodil Delight’ cardstock, measuring 14.2cm x 9.8 cm, using ‘Multipurpose Glue’. You could change the ‘Daffodil Delight’ layer for any of the other colours used. Using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’ adhere this to the front of an A6 card base, measuring 14.9cm x 10.5cm.
Placing Your Trees
Place your ‘Daffodil Delight’ tree in the centre of your card front and place your ‘Bermuda Bay’ tree to the left and your ‘Gorgeous Grape’ tree to the right. Ensuring they are equally distanced. Adhere these using ‘Multipurpose Glue.
Place ‘Stampin Dimensionals’ to the rear of your ‘Granny Apple Green’ and ‘Melon Mambo’ trees. Adhere your ‘Granny Apple Green’ tree between your ‘Bermuda Bay’ and ‘Daffodil Delight’ trees. Next, adhere your ‘Melon Mambo’ tree between your ‘Daffodil Delight’ and ‘Gorgeous Grape’ trees.
Finish your card by stamping your sentiment onto ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, using ‘Memento Tuxedo Black’ ink. Punch our, using the ‘Classic Label Punch’ and adhere using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’.
