Hello and welcome to my latest blog post. Today I am joining the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop -Anything but a card. I would like to share with you a fun kids box frame I made for a friend, who is expecting a new baby very soon.

I love making box frames, especially when they can be bright and fun. They can add such character to a space and can be easily changed to reflect their surroundings. In the past I have made a few as samplers and for another friend, who has them for her salon, where she has given me a quote or a description of what she would like.

My Fun Kids Box Frame

For this project I have combined the ‘Hippo Happiness’ stamp set, ‘Hippo & Friends’ dies and the ‘Playing with Patterns’ suite. The colours are inspired by the ‘Playing with Patterns DSP’ (designer series paper), ‘Calypso Coral’, ‘Crushed Curry’, ‘Purple Posy’, ‘Coastal Cabana’ and ‘Night of Navy’.

Layer a piece of ‘Coastal Cabana’ DSP, measuring 15.5cm x 15.5cm, on to a piece of ‘Night of Navy’ cardstock, measuring 16cm x 16cm. Adhere to a white base inside your box frame.

Die cut your chosen words using the ‘Playful Alphabet’ dies, from ‘Calypso Coral’, ‘Crushed Curry’ and ‘Purple Posy’ card stock. Adhere to your DSP, using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’.

Using ‘Calypso Coral’, ‘Crushed Curry’ ink and ‘Purple Posy Write Marker’ (to colour you stamp) stamp onto a piece of ‘Basic White’ cardstock. Use animal images from the ‘Hippo Happiness’ stamp set. Add facial detail stamps with ‘Memento Tuxedo Back’ ink. I stamped two horses so they could play together.

Die cut using the coordinating dies and adhere to your DSP, using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’.

To finish, add several ‘Playing with Patterns Resin Dots’.

Coordinating Welcome Baby Card

I also created a coordinating Welcome Baby card, using the same products. and ‘Vellum’ to soften the DSP.
