STAMPTASTIC FRIENDS BLOG HOP

Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop. This month theme is Favourite Tool and we definitely have plenty to choose from. I have to choose Water Painters. I am no artist but love watercolour and have always wished I could create that soft look. Now I can, with the help of our Water Painters.

Our Water Painters come in a pack of three, each a different width. The wide flat brush is perfect for backgrounds or creating stipes. The other two have round brush nibs of different thickness, a thin for small areas and detail and a thicker for larger areas.

Soft Watercolour Thank You Card

Die cut a rectangle of watercolour card using the Ornate Layers Dies. Stamp your image using Versamark ink and sprinkle with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Shake off excess powder and heath with a Heat Tool until melted. This gives you a border to stop your ink/water from spreading, as well as giving you your image.

Dampen your card before adding any ink, this will allow your ink to move freely. Add your chosen ink to a spare acrylic block, either from your ink pad or a refill bottle, and add water with your Water Painter. Colour your image, adding more/less water/ink to get shading. Edge your image with Pool Party ink to give a background of sky. When you are happy with your watercolour image, set aside to dry.

Trim a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock to 8.5cm x 14.9cm and emboss with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. Adhere Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim to your long edges, using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Adhere to an A6 Crumb Cake cardbase, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere your watercolour image on top of your embossed, Blushing Bride layer. Stamp your sentiment onto Crumb Cake cardstock, using Versamark ink and sprinkle with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Shake off excess and heat. Fussy cut around and adhere to card front. Finish your card by adding Brushed Brass Butterflies.
