Hello, it is time for the Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop. This month we are all about Christmas and I am going Rainbow Christmas! I am not quite ready for Christmas yet, I have to get Halloween and Bonfire Night over with first but have been making the odd Christmas card.
I have chosen to create a very non-traditional Christmas card, a Rainbow Christmas Card. I love a rainbow and especially a bright, fun rainbow Christmas card. The Merriest Trees Bundle is perfect for this clean and simple design and offers lots of scope for variation. Having the multiple sized dies not only allows you to create a variety of size trees but also to create layered trees. I created a very similar card a few years back using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree punch. You can read that blog post here.
A Rainbow Christmas Card
Using Coastal Cabana ink, stamp the detail tree image onto Coastal Cabana cardstock. Die-cut your tree using the middle sized die. This die three levels to your tree. If you are creating a larger card, you could use a larger die. Repeat this process with Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Gorgeous Grape.
Trim a piece of Basic White cardstock to 14.4cm x 10cm and matt onto a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock, measuring 14.6cm x 10.2cm. You could use one of the other colour cardstock if you prefer. Adhere this to a Thick Basic White cardbase, measuring 14.9cm x 10.5cm.
Stamp your sentiment onto Basic Black cardstock, using Versamark ink. Make sure you rub over your cardstock with your Embossing Buddy, or equivelant, to remove and grease or static. Cover your stamped sentiment with White WOW Embossing Powder and shake off excess. Use a heat tool to heat until all the powder has melted and is bright, shiny white. Die-cut or trim to size, I used the banner die from the Hearts & Hugs Dies. Adhere this to your card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finish your card by adding several Rhinestone Basic jewels. Remember that odd numbers work best.
I hope I have inspired you to try a Rainbow Christmas card or to CASE this card. All the products used are listed below and available to purchase from my online store.
Please do continue to hop round for lots more creativity and inspiration. I can’t wait to see what the other demonstrators have chosen to share with you.
