Hello and welcome to this weeks blog post, for the Global Design Project #gdp249.
I know I have not been around later, and for this I apologise. We recently got the call to return to work (my other job being at a local pub, in their kitchen), with this and my Arthritis, I have been struggling to get any crafting done. Not only does my Arthritis affect my joints but all so my fatigue and motivation. I hope that I have now found my comfort zone between the two.
For this weeks challenge we have been given three wonderful colours, Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink and Pool Party. Pool Party is my favourite Stampin’ Up! colour. I find it very versatile and coordinates with most colours really well.
A Jar Full Of Flowers Cards #GDP249
For this project I wanted to use the ‘Painted Poppies’ stamp set to create a bunch of flowers and thought the colours and images would look wonderful together. I needed something to put my flowers into and went straight for the ‘Jar Of Flowers’ stamp set. What do your think? Does it work?
To recreate this card cut a layer of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, measuring 9.5cm x 13.9cm, and stamp your jar image, using ‘Misty Moonlight’ ink. For the water inside the jar, use the half jar image and ‘Pool Party’ ink.
On a separate piece of ‘Whisper White’ cardstock, stamp several of the small and large flower head images (from ‘Painted Poppies’ stamp set) using ‘Misty Moonlight’, ‘Petal Pink’ and ‘Pool Party’ ink. Using the solid splodge image, over stamp each flower head image in the matching ink colour and use second and third generation stamping. This is stamping onto a piece of scrap paper first to get a lighter colour. Die cut out your flower heads using the ‘Painted Labels’ dies.
Arrange your flower heads above your jar image. Adhere into place using ‘Multi Purpose Glue’ and ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’, this will give your great layers and texture.
Layer your ‘Whisper White’ card front onto a piece of ‘Petal Pink’, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm, using ‘Multi Purpose Glue’. Adhere this to an A6 cardbase, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, made from ‘Thick Whisper White’ cardstock.
To finish, tie a bow using the twine from the ‘Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack’ and adhere to your card front with a ‘Mini Glue Dot’.
