Hello and welcome. It’s been a while, I know, but I am excited to be back with you. I have a fantastic project to share with you, and I am joining the Global Design Project – #GDP252, which incorporates two of my favourite products from the annual catalogue and the Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes.
This weeks challenge is to C.A.S.E. the designer and I am thrilled to say that it is an amazing person, not only for her craft but also as a friend, Emma Goddard – The Coastal Crafter. For those of you wondering what C.A.S.E. stands for, then let me explain. There are two commonly used, Copy And Share Everything and Copy And Selectively Edit, both are well used and there is no shame in this. The only known “rule” is to always give credit to the designer.
Hippo Birthday Mini Paper Pumpkin Box
My project incorporates two of my favourite products from the annual catalogue, the Hippo Happiness bundle and the Playing with Patterns DSP. Instead of a card I wanted yo create a gift box and the Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes are wonderful for this.
Colour wash your box using the wide water painter and Coastal Cabana ink and allow to dry. Cut a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock, measuring 14 cm x 9.5 cm and adhere to the top of your box. Take a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, measuring 13.7 cm x 9cm and create a Coastal Cabana colourwash background, using the wide water painter. Create extra texture by flicking a splatter of Coastal Cabana ink all over.
Using the Playing with Patterns DSP, cut three strips of various width and length, and create a banner end with the Triple Banner Punch. Adhere these to your created background, overlapping slightly. Stamp your images from the Hippo Happiness Bundle, using Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry ink. Die cut using the coordinating dies and adhere on to your paper strips, using multipurpose glue and Stampin’ Dimesnionals.
Stamp your sentiment, using Night of Navy ink and add three Playing with Patterns Resin Dots. Adhere your finished piece to the op of you box and finish by tying Purple Posy ribbon, from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack, around your box and tie into a bow.
