Hello and welcome to this months Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop. This months theme is Love/Hugs and I think we all need and deserve a bit of both right now.

Wow! it is January 2021 and we are in lockdown again. I do hope that you enjoyed Christmas in the best way you could. It was lovely here, as I got to stay home for Christmas day, I am usually working, and we played games, watched Christmas movies and ate way too much.

Blog Theme – Love/Hugs

For our first blog hop of 2021 we are all about love/hugs. When looking through my stamp sets for this, I found that I did not have a specific valentines set and thought “Why do I need one?”. Love/hugs is not just about valentines, it is the family we have and those we choose, so my card today is for all my Stampin’ Up! family.

For this card I have decided to use DSP (designer series paper) as my main focal point. You do not have to have the coordinating stamp set and dsp, you can use the images in the dsp. I have chosen to use the ‘Peony Garden DSP’, with its soft floral images.

Fussy cut your chosen floral image from your DSP, ensuring it is a compatible size. I have chosen the ‘Basic Grey’ and white DSP. Colour your image using ‘Petal Pink’ and ‘Soft Sea Foam’ Stampin Blends.

Cut a piece of your chosen backing paper, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm. I have chosen the ‘Grey Granite’ with a soft geometric design. Adhere your coloured image to the left hand side, you may need to trim to fit.

The bow

Colour a piece of ‘Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon’, long enough to wrap around your card and make a double bow, with ‘Petal Pink Stampin Blend’. Place across your card and adhere to the back. Tie a double bow and adhere on top of your ribbon. I make these by wrapping ribbon around two fingers twice, passing it between and then around the ribbon. Secure with a knot, I get someone to help with this.

Stamp your sentiment onto ‘Soft Sea Foam’ cardstock, using ‘Basic Grey’ ink. My sentiment is from the ‘Lovely You’ stamp set. Punch out or fussy cut and using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’ adhere on top of your ribbon.

Adhere your card front onto an A6 ‘Soft Sea Foam’ card base, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm. To finish, colour ‘Pearl Basic Jewels’ with ‘Petal Pink Stampin Blend’ and adhere to the font of your card.
