Create A Simple Masculine Card Using Layered Ements!

Hello, it’s time for the Build & Bloom Blog Hop. For May we are bringing you ‘Masculine’ projects and I tend to struggle with masculine cards. I am not sure why, but I always have. I mean I am sure that most of the cards we create can be made more masculine just by changing out the colours.

This month I have chosen to use the Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite as my Product Spotlight over on my social media. This suite is perfect for so many occassions and projects. I found creating my simple masculine card straightforward and easier than usual.

How to create your simple masculine card.

Layering elements for a simple masculine card using the Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite

Create an A6 cardbase, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, using Smoky Slate cardstock. Add a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm. Cut a piece of Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP (designer series paper), measuring 7cm x 14.4cm, and adhere to your Smoky Slate layer, leaving a 0.5cm gap to the left. Trim a strip of black & white DSP to 0.5cm x 14.4cm and adhere to the right.

Using the Spotlight On Nature Dies, die-cut a cirlcle from Basic White cardstock. Mine is approximatley 7cm wide. Adhere this to your DSP using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the small chevron above to the left and below to the right, using Pretty Peacock ink.

Die-cut a tag from Basic Black, small label from Pretty peacock and large label from Pool Party cardstock. Using Pool Party ink, stamp the zigzag image onto Pool Party label.

Stamp your sentiment onto Basic White cardstock, using black ink. Add the label border using Pretty Peacock and die-cut.

Layer onto your circle using a mix of Stampin’ Dimensionals and glue. Add your circle to your card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish your simple masculine card, add a black Baker’s Twine bow, heart from the Floral Flights Accents and Pool Party Array Of Dots either side of your sentiment. My seniment is from the A Family Celebration stamp set.
