Hello and welcome. Today I would like to share with you a card I have made for the ‘Global Design Project’ #GDP244. This week we have been given a card by Krista Frattin to CASE – Copy And Selectively Edit. This is a great opportunity to show how you can take any card and make it your own, with the products you have.
Happy Father’s Day
For my project, I wanted to to make a card for father’s day to send to my Dad. For this I pulled out the ‘Geared Up Garage’ stamp set and ‘Garage Gears’ coordinating dies. These are a fantastic set for any petrol head! It is full of wonderful motor related images and the dies have some amazing cogs.
To create this card you will need a piece of ‘Whisper White’ card stock measuring 8.5 cm x 13.9 cm. Randomly stamp your oil splodge image in ‘Smoky Slate’ ink and your nuts image in ‘Basic Grey’ ink. Cut into two pieces, one that is 6.5 cm x 13.9 cm and one that is 2 cm x 13.9 cm. Cut two pieces of ‘Daffodil Delight’ card stock measuring 7 cm x 14.4 cm and 2.5 cm x 14.4 cm. Back these onto your stamped ‘Whisper White’ layers.
Take a standard A6 cardbase, measuring 14.9 cm x 10.5 cm, and trim 3cm off the card front. Leaving you with a card front that is smaller than the back.
Using the ‘Stitched Rectangle’ dies, cut the thinnest from ‘Daffodil Delight’ card stock and the next size up from ‘Smoky Slate’ cardstock. Adhere these together, with the smaller off centre to the left. Using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’, place this onto your card front with the right hand side over hanging.
Stamp your sentiment using ‘Versamark’ ink and cover with white embossing powder. Melt this with your heat tool and die cut out. Adhere to the front of your card using ‘Stampin Dimensionals’. Finish by adding a few of the cogs, die cut from ‘Silver Foil Sheets’.
