Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog, where our theme is Birthdays. Any sort of birthday, whether its Boy/Girl, a Special Big One, Mom/Dad or Sister/Brother, they are all special and deserve a handmade card. .
Die-cut DSP to Create a Happy Birthday Card
For my card I have chosen to use the Hues of Happiness DSP (Designer Series Paper). This DSP has the most gorgeous floral and watercolour images and uses a vibrant collection of colours. The Blossoming Happiness Dies coordinate perfectly with the DSP, allowing you to die-cut flowers and foliage straight from the papers.
Create an A6 cardbase, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, from Thick Basic White cardstock. Adhere a layer of Night of Navy cardstock, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm. Trim a piece of DSP to 9.5cm x 13.9cm and adhere to your cardbase.
Die-cut flowers and foliage from your chosen sheet of DSP. Make sure you use the ones on the edges as these are useful too. Arrange them on your cardbase until you are happy with how they look. Starting with a main focal point will help with placement. Once you are happy you can adhere them into place, popping your main focal point, and maybe one or two more, up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp your sentiment using Versamark ink, onto Night of Navy cardstock, and cover with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Shake off the excess and heat until melted. Trim to size and adhere to your card.
To finish, colour several Rhinestone Basic Jewels with Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend and add to your card.
