Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop. For July we have a theme of Summer Fun and the weather, here in the UK, could not be more fitting. Summer Fun gives endless possibilities, beach, sun, swim, days out, bars and much, much more. For me, a dream summer would be by the sea, watching the sun set and a glass of wine or two.

What better way to express this than the In The Moment stamp set and one image in particular. I have teamed this with a blended background, to create a beautiful sun set. I can just image it now, the sound of the waves and the smell of the fresh sea air. Yes, I need a holiday.

Blended Background Sunset

Trim a piece of Basic White cardstock to 9.5cm x 9.5cm and using a Blending Brush and Calypso Coral ink, apply ink lightly to the one end. Build up your edge colour and fade out towards the centre. Swap your Blending Brush and ink for Pale Papaya. Build up your colour in the middle section, blending into the Calypso Coral and fading out to the other end. Swap your Blending Brush again and your ink for Coastal Cabana, apply ink to the bottom edge and blend into the Pale Papaya.

Stamp your image onto your blended sunset, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colour using Watercolour Pencils. I used a selection from assortment 1 & 2. For the dress I have used paper piecing. Stamp your image onto a piece of DSP, (Designer Series Paper), fussy cut around the dress and adhere into place. Yes, I have used a now retired DSP, sorry.

Trim a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm, and die cut an aperture, using the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Attach your sunset to the rear of your aperture, using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Create an A6 card base, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, using Thick Basic White cardstock and adhere your layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp your sentiment onto Basic White cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies. Cut a length of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon and trim in half along its length. Fold behind your sentiment and adhere both to your card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
