Hello and welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop. For August we have a theme of Card for Kids, and I could not think of a better suite than the Happy Forest Friends.
The suite contains a stamp set, dies, ribbon and the most gorgeous DSP (Designer Series Paper). The DSP have some wonderful scenes and just screamed at me for a simple Gatefold card, letting the DSP be seen to the full.
Simple Gatefold card
Cut a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock to 21cm x 14.9cm and score at 5.25cm & 15.75cm. Fold score lines to bring flaps together. This is your Simple Gatefold card base. Trim four pieces of So Saffron cardstock to 4.8cm x 14.5cm and adhere to both sides of your flaps. Trim one 10cm x 14.5cm piece of So Saffron cardstock and adhere inside your card.
For the front flaps cut two pieces of DSP, measuring 4.6cm x 14.3cm, ensuring the pattern carries across both pieces, and adhere into place. For inside your card trim a piece of DSP to 9.8cm x 14.3cm and adhere into place.
Create a bellyband by cutting a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock, measuring 4cm x 25cm, wrap around your card and adhere the two overlapping ends together. Adhere a strip of So Saffron cardstock, measuring 3.6cm x 20cm, to your bellyband with the ends meeting near Smokey Slate join.
Stamp your sentiment onto Basic White cardstock, using Smokey Slate ink, and die cut using the third largest circle from the Stylish Shape Dies. Using the Stylish Shapes Dies, die cut the second largest circle from So Saffron cardstock and the largest circle from Smokey Slate cardstock. Layer these up and adhere to your bellyband to cover the joins.
