STAMPTASTIC FRIENDS BLOG HOP

Hello and welcome to Februarys Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop. This month’s theme is – Fancy Fold. I do love a fancy fold, though I do not create them as often as I should. There are so many options available when creating a fancy fold, book fold, stepper, gate fold and many more.

I have chosen to create a 3D box fold card. These cards give maximum impact and are easier to create than expected. The Dainty Delight stamp set and dies bundle, is fantastic and lends itself perfectly to this style of card. The papers I have used are the Dainty Delight DSP and are only available free during Sale-A-bration, ends 28th February 2023. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like further details.

Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, measuring 21cm x 14.9cm. Score on the 14.9cm side, portrait, at 8.5cm. Turn 90 degrees to left, anticlockwise, and score on the 21cm side, landscape, at 5cm, 10cm,15cm and 20cm. Cut down all four score lines to the 8.5cm score line. Trim off the small 1cm strip, above the 8.5cm score line. See diagram below.

Fold and burnish the 5, 10, 15 and 20cm score lines. Fold in half and adhere your 1cm strip to your last 5cm section. This will create a box. Fold down three sections along the 8.5cm score line, leaving one to create the back of your box card. Cut three strips of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, measuring 1cm x 7cm, and score at 1cm and 6 cm. Fold and burnish score lines and glue inside your box card, these will give you somewhere to adhere your flowers and foliage.

Cut three pieces of Dainty Flowers dsp, measuring 4.5cm x 8cm, and adhere to three bottom sections of your box card. Using a contrasting piece of dsp, cut three pieces measuring 4.5cm x 6cm and adhere to your three flaps. You can fix these into place with a Mini Glue Dot, if you wish. To cover the back, inside your box card, trim a piece of dsp to 4.5cm x 14.4cm.

Adding decoration

Stamp several of the smaller images onto Basic White cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colour using Stampin’ Blends and die cut, using coordinating dies. I have used Blackberry Bliss, Daffodill Delight, Fresh Freesia, Old Olive and Starry Sky. Using some of the other Dainty Delight dies, cut flowers and foliage from Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Starry Sky cardstock. I also cut a couple from Vellum, for added interest.

Add your stamped and die cut flowers and foliage to your card strips using Mini Glue Dots, placing them on front and back. Allow these to overhang the edges, making sure it will still fit in your envelope. You can also place some flower on the back of the front of your box card to fill it out.

Finishing touches.

Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp your sentiment onto Basic White cardstock and trim to suit. Cut a length of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and trim in half-length ways. fold in half and adhere to the reverse of your sentiment with Mini Glue Dots. Add your sentiment to the front of your box card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish your card, add several Brushed Brass Butterflies.
