Christmas In July - Creating A MCM Inspired Christmas Card!

This month our theme is Christmas in July, which when we are in the middle of a heatwave here in the UK has been a bit of a struggle to feel festive. I have chosen to use the Festive Cheer Bundle, this is part of the July Online Exclusives. I was drawn to this set instantly. The images have a very MCM (mid century modern) feel and that has influenced my colour choices.

How I created my Christmas in July card.

Festive Cheer Bundle, Lost Lagoon, Hydrandea Hue, Strawberry Slush and Bubble Bath. Hanging Baubles with Fala lalala whimsical stamped border.

Cut a layer of Basic White cardstock, measuring 9cm x 114.4cm. Create a whimsical boarder acros the bottom third, stamping fala lalala using Basic Gray ink, small double snowflake using Bubble Bath ink, and small double star using Hydrangea Hue ink.

Trim a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm, and matt to your layer. Splatter lightly with Wink Of Stella. This will add sparkle to your project.

Stamp and die-cut a selection of bauble images, using first and second generation stamping. Adhere to your layer using a mix of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Glue.

Die-cut bauble toppers from silver foil and adhere to you baubles. Using Smoky Slate cardstock, die-cut a set of ‘stings’ and add above your baubles.

Create an A6 cardbase, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, using Bubble Bath cardstock and adhere your layer to the cardbase. Add a double bow of Bubble Bath Faux Linen Ribbon and finish with several Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
