Hello and welcome to Septembers Tech 4 Stampers blog hop. This month’s theme is Scraps, and we all have plenty of those, right. How often do you cut or use a piece of cardstock and end up with a scrap piece? Every time you craft, I would think. Well today I would like to share with you one way to use up some of these.
Cutting cardstock scraps into strips, is a wonderful way to create a fun background and can be done in many ways. Think or thin strips, all inline or not, straight across or at an angle, there are many options. I have chosen to lay my strips diagonal and use a rainbow of colours from the Brights family.
Creating your card
Trim your chosen colours of cardstock scraps to 2cm wide strips. Cut a layer of Basic White cardstock measuring 9.5cm x 13.9cm. Lay your scrap strips onto your Basic White layer, in your chosen design. Once you are happy with your placement, adhere into place with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Allow to dry and trim any overhanging scraps.
Using the Wanted To Say Dies, cut a happy birthday from Basic White cardstock and its shadow from Basic Black. Adhere together using `fine Tip Glue Pen and add to your design using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Mat your design onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, measuring 10cm x 14.4cm. Create an A6 card base, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm, using Basic White Thick cardstock and adhere your card front in place.
Embellish with a scattering of Glossy Dots Assortment and Rhinestone Basic Jewels. For that extra bit of sparkle add Wink Of Stella to your happy Birthday.
