Hello, thank you for stopping by. This month’s Tech 4 Stampers blog hop is all about DSP/pretty paper. We all love to have a selection of DSP/pretty paper and usually end up with a large amount of smaller, scrap pieces. Today I would like to share with you a card I have made, using those DSP/pretty paper scraps.
For my card I have chosen to use the Bright & Beautiful 6″x6″ DSP, which has carried over from the 2023-2024 Annual catalogue to the current 2024-2025 Annual catalogue. I was really pleased to see they had done this, as this paper is such a fun one to use when creating celebration cards. The colour palette and designs are playful and suitable for all ages.
Using DSP/pretty paper scraps
Trim your scraps into strips. I chose to cut mine between 1.5cm & 2cm wide, with a length between 4.5cm & 6cm. This gives you a nice variation. You will need approximately ten strips for a standard A6 card.
Trim a piece of Basic White cardstock to 9cm x 13.4cm. Arrange your DSP scraps to the left-hand side, overlapping one another. When you are happy with your placement you can adhere into place.
Cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, measuring 10.2cm x 14.6cm, and emboss using the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to an A6 Pretty Peacock card base, measuring 10.5cm x 14.9cm.
Heat emboss ‘Happy Birthday’ from the So Sincere stamp set, using white emboss powder and Basic Black cardstock. Attach a swoosh of white baker’s twine, from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack to the back of your sentiment and adhere onto your DSP scraps using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere your Basic White card front to your Pretty Peacock embossed layer.
To finish your card, add several Loose Frosted Dots, from the Online Exclusives.
I do hope you I have given you some inspiration on how you can use those DSP/pretty paper scraps. All products used are listed below and available to purchase from my online shop.
You can watch me recreate a version on the card below.
Please do continue to hop round for lots more inspiration.
