Hello and welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop. For September we have a theme of Favourite Technique and I just have to share Heat Embossing! I am still amazed by this technique, the joy it brings me, every time I see that embossing powder melt. Heat Embossing is a simple technique that can be used in many ways. Today, I would like to share just one with you, Emboss Resist.

Heat Embossing A Birthday Card

Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 9cm x 13.5cm and rub over with your Embossing Buddy, (part of the Embossing Additions Tool Kit). This removes any oils or grease and prevents embossing powder sticking where not wanted. Stamp your Rays Of Light image using Versmark ink. I used the Stamparatus, to ensure an even stamp. Sprinkle over White Embossing Powder, covering the whole image. Shake off excess and return to your pot. Using a Heat Tool, heat the embossing powder until melted, it will become shinny.

Using Blending Brushes, apply Polished Pink, Gorgeous Grape, and Orchid Oasis ink, allowing the inks to blend. Once you are happy with your colour, remove the ink from the heat embossed image, by wiping with an old cloth.

Repeat the heat embossing process for your sentiment, using Basic Black cardstock and white Embossing Powder. I have used the Biggest Wish stamp set for a ‘happy birthday’ and fussy cut. Adhere your sentiment, using Stampin’ Dimensional, placing a length of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon behind the ‘birthday’.

Trim a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 9.5cm x 14cm and mat behind your card front. Create an A6 card base, measuring 10.5cm 14.9cm, from Polished Pink cardstock. Adhere your matted card front to your card base.

To finish your card, add a sprinkle of Sparkle And Shine Sequin Assortment.
