Hello and welcome. Today I am sharing a birthday card with a Colour Wash background, for the Global Design Project #GDP328. This week its CASE the designer. CASE can have a couple of meanings, Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit. For GDP we use the later.
Colour Wash Background
Trim a piece of ‘Shimmery White’ cardstock to 9.5 cm x 13.9 cm. Create a colour wash using ‘Fresh Freesia’ ink and the widest ‘Water Painter’ from the set of three. Dry using your ‘Heat Tool’ or allow to dry. Give your panel a light, allover splatter using the ‘Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write Marker’. To do this flick the brush nib on the edge of the cap.
Create an A6 card base, using thick ‘Very Vanilla’ cardstock, measuring 10.5 cm x 14.9 cm. Adhere a piece of ‘Fresh Freesia’ cardstock, measuring 9.5 cm x 13.9 cm, to your card base. This should be on the wonk. Layer your watercolour background on top, also on the wonk.
Stamp your flower image, I have chosen the smaller image from the ‘Blessings Of Home’ stamp set, onto ‘Fluid 100’ watercolour card and using ‘Versamark’ ink. Sprinkle over white ‘Stampin’ Emboss Powder’. Heat with your ‘Heat Tool’, until all powder is melted. Using the narrowest ‘Water Painter’, ‘Pale Papaya’, ‘Fresh Freesia’ and ‘Soft Succulent’ ink, colour your image. Die cut out using the corresponding die from the ‘Flowers Of Home’ dies.
Take a piece of ‘Fresh Freesia Open Weave’ ribbon approximately 24 cm long and cut in two up the middle. This will give you a thinner, more delicate ribbon. Fold three or four times and adhere to the back of your flower image. Using ‘Stampin’ Dimensionals’, adhere to your card front.
Stamp your sentiment onto ‘Shimmery White’ cardstock, using ‘Basic Gray’ ink, and trim to size. Adhere to your card front using ‘Multipurpose Liquid Glue’. Finish your card with ‘In Colour Jewels’.
