Hello, thank you for stopping by and allowing me to inspire you to get creative! Today I would like to share with you how I created these Watercolour Flowers, for the Global Design Project #GDP365. This week we have a colour challenge.

Global Design Project #gdp365 Colour Challenge Soft Succulent Sweet Sorbet Petal Pink

We all have our favorite and go to colours, those we gravitate to without thinking. Using a given colour combination allows us to work with colours that we might not normally choose. I am not a lover of Petal Pink, for me to is too peachy and not a colour I use often. When I first saw this combination, I was not sure, but I have been totally convinced that Petal Pink definitely deserves it place.

Watercolour Flowers Birthday Card

For this card I have used a wide selection of products. I knew straight away that I wanted flowers and foliage on my card, and I wanted to watercolour flowers. All products used are listed below and available to purchase from my online shop.

Heat emboss your flower images onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, using Versmark ink and white Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Add water to your flowers, this allows the ink to blend easier. Using a Water Painter, add a small amount of Petal Pink ink to the edges of your flowers. Add Sweet Sorbet ink in the center and allow to blend out. Keep adding more Sweet Sorbet until you are happy with the colour blend. Dab away any excess. Fussy cut or die cut your watercolour flowers.

Die cut a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper using the second largest Stitched Rectangle Die. Heat Emboss the foliage image from Amazing Silhouettes stamp set, again using Versamark ink and white Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Apply water over your embossed image, using a Water Painter and add a little Soft Succulent ink, to give a hew of colour. Dab away any excess.

Adhere your watercolour flowers to your rectangle, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can add extra dimension by bending your flower’s petals. Punch out foliage, using the Bough Punch, from Vellum and Soft Succulent cardstock. Place these behind your watercolour flowers and adhere using Mini Glue Dots.

Creating the look

Take a length of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon and cut in half length ways, giving you a thinner ribbon. Fold in half and tuck behind your watercolour flowers, fixing into place with Mini Glue Dots. Stamp your sentiment onto Petal Pink cardstock, using Basic Grey ink, and fussy cut. I have used the Happy Birthday from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. Adhere to your Stitched Rectangle using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches

Create an A6 card base, measuring 14.9cm x 10.5cm, using Petal Pink cardstock. Adhere your Stitched Rectangle to the front, using Multi-Purpose Glue. To finish your card, add Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems.

I do hope I have inspired you to get creative. All products used are listed below and available in my online shop.
